Safety Precautions for Common Gas Cylinders

Author:

1. Gas cylinders shall be fixed, away from heat sources, kept ventilated and dry, and protected from direct sunlight and strong vibration. They shall be stored by category. Combustible and combustion supporting cylinders shall not be mixed.

2. The laboratory shall not store excessive gas cylinders, and the laboratory using flammable, explosive and toxic gases shall be equipped with gas monitoring and alarm devices; Oxygen content alarm device shall be installed in the asphyxiant gas room.

3. Reasonably arrange the gas pipeline and make marks.

4. According to the actual state of the cylinder, the "full", "in use" and other status columns shall be removed according to the dotted line in time to ensure that the signboard is consistent with the actual state of the gas.

5. The pressure reducer selected on the gas cylinder shall be classified for special use, and leak detection shall be conducted in time after installation. During use, pay attention to whether there is air leakage, pressure gauge reading, etc.

6. In the use occasions that may cause backflow, the equipment or system pipeline must be equipped with devices to prevent backflow, such as one-way valve, check valve, buffer tank, etc.

7. The gas in the gas cylinder shall not be used up, and a certain residual pressure must be retained.

8. In case of gas leakage, emergency measures such as closing the gas source, opening windows for ventilation and evacuating personnel shall be taken immediately. Never switch on or off the power supply when flammable and explosive gas leaks.

9. The paint marks of various gas cylinders shall be correct, and they must be placed vertically and fixed properly to prevent dumping.

10. Gas cylinders shall not be close to fire, the temperature of acetylene cylinders shall not exceed 40 ℃, the temperature of liquefied gas cylinders shall not exceed 45 ℃, the distance between open fire operations shall be more than 10 meters, the cylinder valve lead shall not leak, and open fire leakage test is strictly prohibited.

11. Gas cylinders shall be inspected at the designated unit regularly, once every 3 years, and the meter head shall be inspected at least once every 6 months.

12. It is not allowed to use oxygen instead of air or oxygen for ventilation; The explosion-proof copper sheet of the gas cylinder device shall not be exchanged without permission; Close the cylinder valve after use.
